Lemon is an incredible ingredient that has been used for a long time in natural beauty remedies, especially for skin care due to its numerous properties. Here are 3 do-it-yourself ways to get immediate and satisfactory benefits.

You’re calling me old?
Our yellow friend is an excellent source of vitamin C and citric acid, a powerful antioxidant and detoxifier that combats the visible signs of aging. Its lightening effect can be perfect for removing the little spots that appear with age. We can find a superb remedy for aging right inside a lemon: every day, squeeze one, apply the juice where necessary and let it remain on the skin for 15 minutes, and then rinse with warm water. This little trick will also help to increase collagen production, strengthening your skin and giving it flexibility. Guessing how old you are will really be a challenge!

Lemon flavoured skin.
Lemons have a wealth of detergent properties that can help you keep your skin beautiful by acting on skin impurities. Mix 2 parts of lemon juice with 3 parts of water and, using a cotton pad, apply it to face and neck. Leave it for 10 minutes, and then rinse with cold water. If your skin needs more nourishment, you can always use a homemade detergent made of lemon juice, yoghurt and essential oil of lavender or chamomile: massaged on the face and neck, it removes dirt and bacteria, while hydrating your skin.

You’re the lemon of my eye.
Puffy eyes are among our worst enemies; besides giving us a dull look, they make our skin tired and lifeless. A good night’s sleep is certainly the first thing to do, but if time is short, you can always fall back on a lemon to improve the situation. Mix a spoon of lemon juice with two spoons of tomato juice and apply it around the eyes. Leave it for 15 minutes, and then wash it off with cold water. And don’t forget that drinking a glass of water with lemon twice a day can protect your skin from the damage of free radicals and, over time, helps you maintain a good pH level, making your skin glow…and fragrant
